Short answer: Google Ads has no minimum spend in Saudi Arabia. You set a daily budget and pay per click. For local businesses in Riyadh, a realistic planning range is about SAR 45–130 per lead for a well-run campaign, so a SAR 5,000 monthly budget would bring roughly 40–110 leads. Ad spend is subject to Saudi VAT at 15%.
That range is a starting point, not a quote. Below is how the pricing works, what moves your cost up or down, and how to check real numbers for your own keywords before you spend anything.
How Google Ads pricing works
Google Ads is an auction. Each time someone in Riyadh searches, advertisers bidding on that search compete for the ad slots, and you pay when someone clicks. Three things decide what you pay:
- Competition for the keyword. More advertisers bidding on the same search means higher clicks.
- Your ad’s quality. Ads and landing pages that match the search closely can win better positions for less.
- Your bid and budget. You decide the most you’ll pay, and an average daily budget caps spend.
One detail surprises people: on a single day Google can spend up to twice your average daily budget when traffic is high. Over a month, though, you are never billed more than 30.4 times the daily budget. Google explains this in its help page on overdelivery and average daily budgets.
What a lead costs in Riyadh
Clicks only matter if they turn into calls, WhatsApp chats or bookings. From the campaigns we plan for Riyadh businesses, a typical cost per lead is about SAR 45–130 ($12–$35). That’s an average from the local campaigns we plan, at 1 USD ≈ SAR 3.75. Real estate projects usually run at SAR 50–170 per lead (you can model a launch with our off-plan launch budget calculator), and construction and interior design leads often land at the top of the range.
Here’s what different monthly budgets look like at that range, before VAT:
| Monthly ad budget | Leads at SAR 130 each | Leads at SAR 45 each |
|---|---|---|
| SAR 3,000 | about 23 | about 67 |
| SAR 5,000 | about 38 | about 111 |
| SAR 10,000 | about 77 | about 222 |
| SAR 20,000 | about 154 | about 444 |
Most businesses land somewhere in the middle. The first four to six weeks usually cost more per lead while the campaign learns which searches and ads convert.
Global benchmarks, for context
There is little public, Saudi-specific benchmark data. The most cited industry study is WordStream’s 2026 Google Ads benchmarks, based on 13,474 US search campaigns between April 2025 and March 2026. Use it to see how industries compare with each other, not as Riyadh prices:
| Industry (US data) | Avg. cost per click | Avg. cost per lead |
|---|---|---|
| All industries | $5.42 | $66.69 |
| Real estate | $3.22 | $102.51 |
| Home and home improvement | $8.33 | $90.92 |
| Furniture | $3.97 | $106.70 |
The pattern holds in Riyadh too: real estate clicks can be cheap, but leads cost more because fewer visitors are ready to act.
VAT on Google Ads in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia’s standard VAT rate is 15%, and online advertising is listed among the taxable electronic services. Budget for it on top of your ad spend. How the VAT shows on your invoice depends on how your Google Ads billing is set up, so check the treatment with your accountant.
What pushes costs up in Riyadh
- Arabic and English searches behave differently. The same service can have very different competition in each language, so we run them as separate ad groups and compare.
- Too wide a map. Riyadh is big. Advertising across the whole city when customers only come from your side of it wastes clicks.
- Weak landing pages. Sending ads to a homepage with no price guide, no WhatsApp button and no Arabic version lowers conversions, so every lead costs more.
- Seasonal peaks. Ramadan, White Friday and Riyadh Season bring more advertisers into the auction, and click prices often rise with them.
- Slow replies. If calls and chats aren’t answered quickly, you pay for leads that never turn into customers.
How to check costs for your own keywords
Before you commit a budget, look up your own numbers in Google’s free Keyword Planner:
- Open Google Ads, then Tools → Keyword Planner → Get search volume and forecasts.
- Enter your main searches in English and Arabic, for example “villas for sale riyadh” or “interior design company riyadh” and their Arabic equivalents.
- Set the location to Riyadh and the language to English and Arabic.
- Read the top of page bid range. That is roughly what a click near the top costs today.
- Divide your monthly budget by that click price, then multiply by a realistic conversion rate (5–10% for a good landing page) to estimate leads.
Budget and fees: what you actually pay
You pay two separate things. Ad spend goes directly to Google on your own card, plus VAT. If an agency runs the account, its management fee is a separate monthly line. Keep them separate, and keep the ad account in your own company’s name.

Questions
Is there a minimum budget for Google Ads in Saudi Arabia?
No. Google Ads has no minimum spend: you set an average daily budget and pay for clicks. In practice, a small local campaign in Riyadh needs enough budget to collect data, and most businesses start with a few thousand riyals a month.
How much does a lead from Google Ads cost in Riyadh?
Our published planning range for well-run campaigns in Riyadh is about SAR 45–130 per lead ($12–$35), averaged across common local niches. Your own cost depends on your niche, offer, landing page and season.
Do I pay VAT on Google Ads in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Arabia’s standard VAT rate is 15% and it covers online advertising services. How it appears on your invoice depends on your billing setup, so confirm the treatment with your accountant.
Can Google spend more than my daily budget?
On a single day Google can spend up to twice your average daily budget, but over a month you are not billed more than 30.4 times the daily budget.
Is the agency fee included in the ad budget?
It shouldn’t be. Ad spend should be paid by you directly to Google on your own card, and the management fee should be a separate line.
